CANCER COACHING

The Susan Silberstein Center for Advancement in Cancer Education holistic approach to cancer focuses on healing the host (the patient) vs. attacking the tumors. It looks at tumors as the result of a system that is malfunctioning in multiple ways, and provides guidance in helping the body get back on track.

  • Diet is one of the first mechanisms of healing, as processed foods have been linked to several kinds of cancer. The Silberstein protocol emphasizes a high-protein, whole-foods, plant-based diet, with lots of colorful fruits and vegetables. (Also known in functional medicine as “eating the rainbow.”) Research has shown that cancer thrives in an acidic environment, so the Silberstein diet leans toward more alkaline foods.

  • The protocol also promotes detoxification, which rids the body of elements that create inflammation. Toxins are becoming more and more prolific in our environment, in our foods, and even in what we use on our bodies, and too much creates stress on a cellular level.

  • Promoting the immune system is also incorporated, as the body has its own mechanisms to help fight off multiplying cancer cells.

  • “Manage your stress or your stress will manage you.” Stress reduction is a key part of the Silberstein protocol, as stress can cripple many processes that are paramount to optimal health, including immunity, digestion, hormone balance, nervous system function and lymphatic function.

With those premises in mind, cancer coaching at Here to Help Coaching will focus on your specific needs. Whether you are trying to prevent cancer, manage side effects of treatments, or recover after cancer treatment, I will provide resources and work with you to provide your body with the tools it needs to be strong and healthy.

Repairing body function often can often reverse cancer symptoms and resolve the cancer process. For that reason, functional medicine practitioners are among my favorite health professionals to whom to make referrals
