Mold recovery coaching
Whether I like it or not, I have become a go-to person for mold issues. Maybe it was the massive scale of my home remediation ($30,000) or the severity of my illness (four months of hell), or the fact that we repeated everything again with my daughter’s moldy college apartment. However I got here, I have learned a lot and I am happy to help you recover!
There are a variety of symptoms associated with mold exposure, including:
Fatigue
Brain fog
Depression/anxiety
Headaches
Changes in visual activity
Numbness
Disequilibrium
Lightheadedness and feeling “spaced out”
Muscular weakness
Tinnitus
Sinus congestion
Asthma
GI symptoms
Itchy skin
The problem is, nearly all general practitioners do not see these symptoms, even collectively, and think “mold.” In most cases, including my own, they conclude the patient is an anxious hypochondriac and prescribe SSRIs. This creates extreme frustration and many wasted days of feeling terrible. It is difficult, nearly impossible, to find the help you need when you are a mold patient. I was lucky to work with a functional medicine doctor, and I did a lot of research myself. (Which one tends to do when one is seriously ill and dismissed by doctors.) After my recovery, I became a functional medicine health coach in the hopes of providing help to other people suffering from these challenges.
What does mold coaching look like?
We will look at your environment. I can help with finding tests, inspectors and remediators, and provide information during the remediation process.
We will look at your health. If you want a definitive diagnosis, I can provide access to various mold panels through Rupa Health.
I can provide information on accelerating recovery with different detoxification/recovery strategies.
We can discuss the Cell Danger Response, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome, all of which may follow mold illness.
I can help with other aspects of whole body health including gut assessment and repair, hormone balance, blood sugar regulation and addressing the vagus nerve.
I am a willing ear if you just want to vent about the massive impact of mold on your life to someone who completely understands!
