Epidemic answers children’s wellness coaching

Childhood is supposed to be a time to enjoy the best of health. Maybe a runny nose here, an ear infection there. In recent years, that has shifted unfavorably, as kids today are suffering with more severe and chronic illnesses than ever.

In 1983, one in 10,000 kids were diagnosed with autism. That number jumped to one in 88 in 2013, and now stands at one in 36. It is estimated that 7.5 million children in the U.S.have been diagnosed with asthma. About 10-15% of children have IBS. And researchers have found a dramatic increase in cancers occurring in younger people.

The good news? Many of these issues can be prevented or even reversed. Epidemic Answers, which focuses on “the epidemic of chronic illness in children” points to six underlying causes:

  • Toxicity

  • Gut dysbiosis

  • Immune dysregulation

  • Nutritional deficiencies

  • Inflammation

  • Hormonal Imbalance

Epidemic Answers looks at the “total load” the child is carrying, and whether their bodies are equipped to handle it. For kids with impaired ability to detoxify, these insults can quickly evolve into major health issues. The goal of the program is to reduce the child’s “total load,” repair the gut and restore proper nutrition to allow the body to relax and heal.

What can you expect with Epidemic Answers Health Coaching? We will look at your child’s “total load” (starting before birth) and options to help “lighten the load”. Optional online tests may help identify a child’s toxic burden, gut health, genetic predispositions and nutritional deficiencies. Diet, stress, relationships and ideas for mind-body healing may also be addressed. We will work together to formulate a plan that is “doable” for your lifestyle and your child’s specific needs.

As a parent and a health coach, seeing any child suffering with health problems breaks my heart. It isn’t fair and it isn’t right. But it is so rewarding to see how quickly a child’s health can turn around with even the smallest of interventions…when you are ready, I am here to help!

“Instead of focusing on methods of treatment, we must focus on reducing the toxic and inflammatory burden on our children and prevent chronic illness before it begins. We must look outward and take action to limit the toxic overload that is pervasive in our environment. At the same time, we must turn inward and adopt a plan that maximizes the body’s ability to heal by supporting optimal digestion, immune function and detoxification.

If such a model of health were implemented in our society, the potential for reducing illnesses would be remarkable…For such a system to work best, it would require parents and healthcare practitioners to embrace the functional medicine paradigm.”
